Food For Fitness
Food For Fitness is a course that teaches students the significance of making healthy lifestyle choices. These choices include physical, social and mental health. The course offers hands-on experience in preparing nutritious meals, using the MyPlate diagram and teaches students healthy cooking methods. The course also covers: diet- related diseases, fast food, nutrition labels, weight management and physical fitness. Creative Cooking is recommended, as a prerequisite.
Grades 9-12, 1/2 Credit
Students will be taught the importance of eating from a variety of food groups, while learning about the importance of nutrition and diet- related diseases.
